For years, many people built their careers on a simple formula:
Stay solidly in the middle of the pack.
Don’t rock the boat.
Be reliable, hardworking, & a good human being.

…& for a long time, that worked.
Mortgages got paid. Reputations stayed intact. Final-salary pensions were secured.

But the landscape has changed.
Loyalty doesn’t seem to hold the weight it once did. Even those who gave decades of steady commitment are now finding themselves swept up in cost-cutting waves that arrive not annually, but monthly.

In many ways, they’re the fortunate ones as they had 25+ years of stability.
Those entering the workforce today will almost certainly never see that model, & many wouldn’t choose it even if they could.

The irony? It’s now risky to play it safe – & safer to take risks.

Standing out has become essential.
But being remarkable isn’t straightforward.
