Well, it takes one to know one…
By day a student & by night a lecturer…(sadly not Batman!)
As days go that was quite unusual to say the least…
One minute I am a student sat in Henley Business School learning the relative merits of qualitative research methods ahead of completing my MSc dissertation…& 76 miles & 90 minutes later I am stood in front of a cohort of EMBA students delivering a session titled ‘What gets you there will not keep you there’. All fairly normal stuff!
If you know anything about me & the work I now do, I am passionate about helping enable those who aspire to senior leadership roles get the right level of support on their way there & particularly when they arrive.
Given that 35% of internal & 47% of external senior executives moving into new roles are pushed out, quit or fail within 18 months this feels like a useful place to spend my time. Such is my interest; my dissertation topic is focused on how executive coaches & coaching can provide the often-missing link to help unlock successful leadership transitions.
